Original Cloth Bunny Doll almost done!

Need to head over to Springerville for hubby's finger prick blood test in a little while.
My original bunny is soooo close to being finished! I just need to design a dress and bloomers for her. I can't decide if I want her outfit to be prim or pieced and modern. I am leaning toward pieced with a pinafore.....
Her face is just darling! I painted the insides of her ears pink with a sponge method and she is lightly coffee/cinnamon/vanilla stained.
And I love her sweet big feetsies. Hubby is not going to be happy hearing this dolly will not be for sale. She is my prototype and I will get started on making more this weekend! Hopefully, I will be creative enough to design boy clothes for Peter....

 Starting to work on Easter Dollies. Yes, I know about a month late. I am a procrastinator and rarely plan that far ahead. I can't think Easter before St. Patty's Day. Now I can.

I love this sewing machine!!!

Today was pretty rough.
I had a Brother sewing machine that was really close to the same model as the one I have now. It lasted 18 years and was still going strong before the house fire. I was so happy with that one that I immediately went out and purchased another.
I got the Brother LS2125I almost 4 years ago. Lately I've been having problems with it. I use the zigzag stitch to finish seams on doll clothes. It's been acting so funky, clumping the thread.
I gave it a good cleaning and extra thorough oiling, new needle and still the stitch would not work right. I finally searched the internet and found the problem! I had the bobbin tension too tight! Simple as that.
The outfits I am working on right now are for swaps, so I can't post pix until the recipients receive them. I want to do a cute AG dress with some kitten fabric a friend gave me, so maybe tonight while dinner is cooking I can get the pieces cut stitch it up real quick!
I am sooooooo happy I got this problem figured out. I truly love this machine. Basic, no bells and whistles and a great bargain price! I have faith this one might last me another 18 years.

I can see....almost!

This has been a rough week for me!
Tues night, while frying eggs, the oil splattered (I swear this has never ever happened and I still don't believe it did!) and some got in my eyes. Rushed to ER, treated with a solution, sent home.
Trying to do anything is agravating. I could barely see. It is slowly improving, but vision is still blurry.
Believe it or not, my eyes don't BURN nearly as much as I was afraid they would.
So Sweet Sandi arrived yesterday. She is darling! I cowboyed up enough to finish a dress for her and got one photo.

I'm taking the weekend OFF - no sewing, no knitting, limited computer (uh huh!).

Two new dolls coming to live with us!

I really thought I was going to get in trouble for "investing" in a doll (2 actually). But hubby was pretty cool about it.
I showed him pictures of the two dolls, one was an auction win, and a couple of clothes patterns I downloaded, cringing all the while wondering how unhappy he'd be.
Surprise, Surprise, Surprise.... all he said was, "Well, it looks like you've been pretty busy. When are you going to finish that skinny doll and the bear?"
I've been struggling over what types of dolls to collect and stressing over some of the prices. I want to sew clothes for Every Kind of Doll out there, but realize that is a long term goal. Today I made the decision to simply add the Baby Face Dolls to cloth dolls and Barbies and call it a good start. DeeDee and Sandi will be coming home sometime next week. I will be making some welcome home outfits. They are going to be walk alike and talk alike twins for now.
Was this investment business/work related? Sure, why not?
Tomorrow seriously, the bear will be finished and I will be working out the details for his GIVEAWAY!!!! Stay tuned!!! He is turning out so cute!
