"E" is for Exercise

It is essential to keep yourself in shape in order to be able to craft, I mean work, 8 hours a day. Both mentally and physically. It is so easy to spend too much time sewing or working on the computer getting web pages updated, blog posts  posted, and forget  to eat or spend 30 minutes being physically active.

After working for 3-4 hours, I get up, put on my walking shoes and walk 1 mile. Everyday, rain or shine. 3 days a week, I ride my stationery bike and aim for 15-20 miles. I normally multi-task. I hate using the handlebars on the bike. I devised a holder on the center bar of the bike to hold yarn, tape a pattern on the picture frame and knit till that 20 miles is up!

I don’t do any strength training, which I really do need to do. Muscles help burn fat and calories. No matter how often I tell myself that, I simply can’t motivate myself to do that.

Do you have an exercise regimen? Leave a comment and share your routine. Do you knit or crochet while pedaling on the exercise bike? Have a fit and productive day!

  1. God knows I need to exercise. I have been a bed bug since my health scare earlier this year. Thanks for some motivation to get my six pack back. Summer is coming!

  2. Be sure to get your doctor's approval to work on getting that six pack back, ok? With a health scare, that is an indication to be careful!
Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment!

  3. I follow jillian Michaels workout DVDs three times a week. Yoga, Circuit training, and weight traing. In between, I take my dogs for long walks, which I'm going to do in a minute.

  4. This is so funny. I just started working out today. My boyfriend bought us a gym membership and he's getting me into strength training so I can tone as well as strengthen my core. It sucked in a crazy sort of way and I would have much rather biked or walked or even gone swimming. I didn't think I was going to be able to walk to make lotions today after the squats he subjected me to. LOL I told him I'd give him a month. Then I'm gonna swim at night and skip the torture. ;) http://www.soapdelinews.com

  5. Soapdeli, Congrats! That is so totally awesome. Really. Your boyfriend has his intentions in the right place, to care enough to help you keep in shape!

  6. I've been trying to get into a routine of walking on the treadmill, but it's just so boring (once the weather gets nicer, I'll be walking outside, but until then...). I've never thought of trying to do my crocheting while walking. What a good idea!
By the way, I'm a new follower from the A to Z Challenge :)
